Huge roadside carvery affair, recently refurbished from what I guess was a normal pub by the small Old Spot chain. We landed here after scouting around on a Tuesday afternoon for anywhere open, to find a large number of cars in the carpark considering the half dozen punters and single staff member therein. You get that in walking areas: this isn't, so I couldn't figure out where everyone had gone. Anyway it's all very tasteful here, think Brunning and Price, plenty of discrete areas, fake beams and whatnot, the interior doesnt really suit the half timbered exterior.
Decent enough Landlord, cheerfully served. This is the sort of place you take your gran for Sunday lunch, though I've no idea how a carvery works with compulsory table service.
It's fine outside mealtimes but due to seating density I would't feel safe if it was at all busy.
