Strongers . left this review about The Mariners
The Mariners was very busy during a recent Monday afternoon visit with all of the tables being taken in this long and thin pub that is decorated with lots of Liverpool FC memorabilia. I’m not sure if it’s always this busy or if the locals from the Swan Inn had reverted to this pub while it is being refurbished. Banquettes run under the front windows and up the left-hand wall opposite the L-shaped serving counter that supports standard keg alongside Poretti and San Miguel. There’s more seating towards the rear under the gaze of a television that was airing muted Sky Sports horse racing while some background music played. The mainly older clientele were generating a good atmosphere and the barmaid was very friendly. The lack of cask ale means that this place will be off the radar for many, but it’s a popular local boozer that I’d pop back into if passing.
