Blackthorn _ left this review about The Office
A recent addition to the Knowle/Totterdown pub scene, the pub is housed underneath a somewhat uninspiring 60’s office block but has made the most of the space with large bi-folding doors at the front and some attractive decking festooned with LED lighting.
It describes itself as a Bar & Canteen, and there probably is quite a bit of emphasis on food, but not to the total exclusion of the casual drinker. The flooring is dark wood and there is exposed brickwork all down one side which had various pieces of local artwork for sale at £100 or so. The exposed brick theme continued behind the bar where it was joined by some very industrial looking shelving and this complimented the very utilitarian lighting fixtures. Light output was however minimal, and even with various candles around the place it might well be described as either dark or atmospheric depending on your point of view. Seating was mostly blue benches for the diners, but there were a couple of leather sofas at the front and a small counter with bar stools by the large windows on the left.
Food wise, the menu looked to be mostly of the tapas variety and there were a number of dishes divided in to meat, fish and vegetables sections, mostly priced somewhere between £3.50 - £5.00. Unfortunately there were no ales on tap, real or otherwise, with the only draught offering being a continental lager. I didn’t inspect the full bottled range, but did notice something from Bristol Beer Factory, whilst I quenched my thirst with a Thatcher’s Gold.
