I've tried here a couple of times recently, once being a Friday evening only to find it closed. Does anyone have any further info on the place?

This is a detached pub and music venue. It is in the Georgain style, with entablature above the door and windows. It is in white render with black paintwork. The interior has four areas. The largest is the music venue at the back, which of course has its own serving bar - i went to see Miles Hunt & Erica Nockalls here - a great night. The pub element has a whiskey bar to the right on entry, with is a square room and looks very neat in grey and black patterned wallpaper, with white ceiling, moulded cornice and wood floor. It has a blocked fireplace, an ornate mirror and a few photographs of musicians on the walls. To the left is a split bar room. This is in greay, with some orange and a wood floor. Urban art and photos are on the walls, and the side area (which takes you to the music venue) is in the same decor, with graffiti on some of the painted brick. There was no TV and the music was live! The service was really good - especially when we popped in to buy the tickets a few weeks back - the bloke was really chatty. Beer; usual tap stuff with Enville Ale, Three Tuns Pale Ale, Wye Valley HPA and Golden Glow on handpull, i tried all except the HPA and they were well kept. This is a place where the name may put you off, but it is excellent as a venue and just to pop inot as a pub (well, bar) - try it!
