Little Drop of Poison is a single room open plan LGBTQ friendly bar with a serving counter along the left-hand wall towards the front of the building opposite the entrance which comes in from the right-hand side. I counted eight hand pumps that were all unused so the draught selection was craft keg available from fonts across the back bar. There’s regular entertainment from open mic to live music to disco nights. This isn’t really my bag and the lack of any cask means that I’ll not be visiting again.

This was Mrs Ale's wildcard on Saturday night, along with the curry house next door. The interior of this pub was a good size with black painted ceilings and walls, along with some fairy lights and a pool table. The clientele was a mixed bunch of students and middle aged. There was no cask ale on our visit and the barman said he won't be getting it back either.
However they did have a decent range of craft, along with a couple of ciders. Mrs A went for a Pomona Island Sploice, an exotic fruit sour, which I thought was stunning so ordered another. I tried a scrumpy cider which hit the spot, plus a taster of the Vault city DDF Caterpillar Cake Imperial Stout at 14.5%. I would definitely return here again as the pub had a relaxed atmosphere and hence some interesting beers. Very good Indian restaurant called 'Ganges' a couple of doors up.

This bar was inexplicably closed on my Thursday evening visit. Opening times on the door suggested it should be open at 9:30pm on a Thursday evening, but it was in complete darkness. Social media suggests that it is still a going concern. Hopefully, I will have better luck next time I am back in Exeter.
