The Rose & Crown has a panelled L-shaped bar counter to the right that faces some centrally placed high tables, as well as raised banquettes under the leaded front windows. Raised seating runs up the left-hand side of the pub to a raised rear section with more seating faced by an exposed brick feature wall. Four hand pumps are supported, drawing Weetwood Brewery’s Best and Turncoat alongside Redwillow’s Weight Less and Wainwright’s Gold. There’s also a limited keg selection of Carlsberg, San Miguel and San Miguel Zero, Poretti, Guinness and Somersby Cider. There was also a spritz menu that seemed popular with the ladies. I sat at one of the surprisingly comfortable high tables in the centre of the pub with a decent pint of Turncoat whilst listening to niche upbeat background music. The service was very friendly and although not that busy there was still a good atmosphere. I’d have no issue returning.
