Strongers . left this review about Globe Hotel
The Globe is an imposing 16th century coaching inn with a tile floored front entrance. To the right of the entrance is a parquet floored dining area and to the left is a step up to the bar area where a serving counter runs across the front wall facing a high table towards the rear. Further left there’s a step down to a strip of seating around a log fireplace above which muted snooker via BBC was airing on a television while some background music played. Partly under a skylight at the rear is another fireplace along with some carpeted seating areas that are broken up by an exterior looking windowed brick wall. Available from the bar were premium keg alongside four hand pumps that were drawing St Austell’s Proper Job, Tribute and Teyr Noyens alongside a decent drop of Bath Ales Gem. The service was polite and I enjoyed my visit.

Real Ale Ray left this review about Globe Hotel
I did enjoy having a wander around this 16th Century coaching house. I took a right turn and ended up walking through three rooms to get to the last dining area. I found another lounge area at rear and a patio garden. Lots of features in this building, especially all the wall panelling. The bar and lounge area was positioned on the left of entrance, which was very smart and not OTT. There was no free for all at the bar, as everyone was queueing up in a neat and orderly line waiting to be served. Four St Austell ales on pump, Proper Job, Tribute, Autumn Haze and Thunder Struck. A tad on the pricey side, still good quality beer.

Bucking Fastard left this review about Globe Hotel
A good looking town hotel frontage tied to St Austell, the bar inside to the left has a drinking vibe and pub atmosphere. The low ceiling and beams attest to the building's age but the decor is modern without loosing atmosphere. There is a lower level main seating area with a large bay window and banquette surround. There is a very steep staircase opposite the bar,but not for venturing up.
The garden patio is large but the former carpark has now been devoted to a motel style set of letting rooms in a terrace arrangement which fits well with the existing old buildings.Food is popular here but not to the detriment of drinkers as there is a dedicated restaurant.
On my trip the ale options were St Austell Tribute,Proper Job (NBSS 4),Super Critical and a guest of Bath Gem.Decent selection, decent place to drink so a revisit is on the cards. Not sure why it's not GBG 2024 listed.
