A decent sized urban style bar with some interesting seating arrangements. The collection of four railway carriage seats near the window circa 1960's, along with a collection of Cinema seating, I thought added some novelty factor. These areas were taken on our visit, so we took up our seating along the left hand side, which consisted of four bright green upholstered booths. There was also an old Granada TV set with an inserted laptop screen showing old Harold Lloyd sketches. Five ales on handpump, so we went for the Empire Brewery Fluke and the Old Spot Brewery Tongue Tangler. The owner was friendly and told us that he always has an interesting range of local beers on cask.

A total change from the previous incarnation as Off The Tap, gutted and refurbished under the expert hand of Sean Garvey not a trace remains of the former spartan interior. There are now comfortable seats, proper bogs and a good range of local beers.

A micro pub by definition but actually fairly larger than most. There is one large open plan room witha high roof and bar at the back as you enter. there were around six ales on at my visit but nothing too exciting so opted for a safe bet harvest pale at around £3 but found it to be a pretty poor standard which was really surprising. There was a few very odd weirdy Brady's in as well and it had a very strange atmosphere not helped by the standoffish approach by the bar man (I thought the point of these places is to communicate and chat about good beer and other conversation?)
I left with a bit of a bad taste and wouldent hurry back. this is strange as these places are usually right up my street.
