Alex Conway left this review about Wheatsheaf Inn

The Whestsheaf is a large ex Home Ales tied house in the village of Burton Joyce wedged between the bypassing Southwell Road at the front and the main road running through the village at the back. This is a Greene king owned Chef and Brewer branded pub and like their other outlets contains lot of cheap generic fixtures and fittings that makes it hard to distinguish it from any of their other outlets. The inside is a lot of wood with cheap generic furniture done out in a modern way that does not give the pub a lot of character (although more than their super bog standard Hungry horse type venues). The bar is located in the centre of the pub serving from the front. There were four handpulls dispensing Greene King About, IPA, Rocking Rudolph and Tribute. Usually i would of had the tribute but it had just gone so I picked the lesser of the three evils and had the Rudolph and a very strange £3.53 a pint? It was served in silly tall Adnams glass which didn’t help but was palatable if uninspiring. Overall a pretty standard offering fro the chain that wasn’t helped by it being dead as a Dodo at 10 PM on a Saturday night. Nothing to overly dislike but like other Greene King offerings nothing to warrant an immediate return.

The Wheatsheaf is one of three pubs in the upmarket commuter town of Burton Joyce.
This pub used to be a Home Ales tied house with a few different rooms, the pub was quite smart inside.
There were two real ales on the bar these being Home bitter and mild with the bitter being a very nice drink.

This large Georgian pub serves food and is part of the Chef and Brewer Pub Co. The majority of the customers on our Saturday eve visit were dining. The pub had beams and bare floorboards, the raised areas were carpeted. There was an open fire and plenty of seating. The central bar had four handpumps serving Tim Taylor Landlord, Adnams, St Austell Tribute and Directors. The service was good and the Adnams was top notch.
