Strongers . left this review about Bar Next Door
There was only one other customer in here when I visited last Saturday evening, but he and the barmaid were very friendly. I was permitted to stick my phone on charge whilst I drank a pint of generic lager. There are two hand pumps on the bar, one of which was unused leaving Skinners Betty Stogs as the available ale. There was some low background music playing, but not a lot else going on. Maybe it gets busier when the pubs are closed as the advertised closing time was 02:30.
Excellent service and welcome, but unfortunately this is a bland bar with zilch character and I would walk past if in the area again.
QI: This venue was opened in the 1970’s when it was known as the Balmoral Castle before becoming the Pawn and Castle and then Breakers. It was then called Next Door before gaining its current moniker of Bar Next Door.
