This was an old coaching house on the London - Brighton Road (A23) but closed suddenly on 8th December 2013 on the collapse of the Menzies Group into administration a few days earlier. It is understood that it has been sold, in several lots, but no sign of activity over a year later. There is a lot of land behind the pub and development for housing seems likely although part of the original buildings are said to be listed.
