refurbished bar on the way up the hill, small downstairs bar, modernised but comfortable, stairs up to a further area, including a nice terrace overlooking the station and the river. Real ale. Looks to be done for the tourists but its actually a nice place to chill

A welcoming quaint one bar freehouse, with restaurant on the second floor, situated on the Fore Street Hill down to the lower ferry across to Dartmouth with a good vista looking out across the Dart Estuary.
Its small, but a good place for a quick pint if you’ve come in by the steam train and want a beer before getting the passenger ferry across to Dartmouth.
Three handpumps on during my visit, Otter Bitter, Bays Best, and Sharps Doombar, and the Bays was very good.
