This one is very much a town centre local. It consists of a long narrow open plan room that is carpeted, has TVs, has a bar in the centre to the left and has a raised area to the rear that includes a dart board and may double as a stage for the live music advertised. There is a weekend cocktail bar upstairs that can be hired for functions. There were a few in on my Wednesday afternoon visit but the whole place was dominated by an older man with a booming voice and a Geordie accent straight from the pages of Viz. I couldn't understand a word he was saying.
The bar has three hand pomps which had one unused, Deuchars IPA and Doom Bore. Rather than risk a poor pint of a beer I know I don't like I went for a John Smiths Smooth Crap (£2.50) which was cheap.
It's not a great place but serves a purpose. I wouldn't return.
