Busy Greene King pub at a set of traffic lights and with a small car park to one side. There is an island bar with rooms both sides creating a fairly open-plan feel. On my late Friday afternoon visit, it was already fairly busy with drinkers. Although the number of reserved tables suggested that people would be in for food later, unless there was some kind of event scheduled that I was unaware of. In fact the elderly landlord slapped a reserved sign on the table I was sat out, but did tell me that there was no rush. It did seem to be a subtle hint though, which I gladly took!

Greene King Abbot & Handpost Best were the real ales. WhatPub tells us that the latter is a rebadged Ruddles Best. Joy of joys!
