Much has changed since the previous review, there has been a huge redevelopment here.Part of the original inn building has been retained and it can offer a public bar option but no real ale in this more rustic building Anyway that section was closed on our lunctime visit. There is a vast modern extension ,wood faced and looking Scandi while past the receptions there is a large lounge bar and dining area with a "Wait to be Seated " sign. However just drinking is fine and at the bar there are two handpumps offering River Leven IPA (poor condition,NBSS 2 ) and Glen Spean Pale Blonde also NBSS 2. These are permanent options outside which a few indie beers on keg but not a lot else.
Wonderful views but you are not far from the busy A82.Staff feed the deer at 2.30pm but dont get too near, they have ticks, lice and are not pets.
Poor ale isnt outwieghed by the scenic beauty,no need for a revisit.

A characterful inn, sitting in splendid isolation towards the base of Glencoe and was used as a barracks after the battle of Battle of Culloden in 1745. Multi-room interior, split into a ‘walkers’ bar and a ‘cocktail’ bar, though the Walkers bar is basically a lounge room affording a superb view of Glencoe. The main action is in the Cocktail bar, a large L shaped room with a pool table at the extended rear. The older part of the room is done out in a pseudo Swiss chalet lounge style. Two ales, Thwaites Lancaster Bomber and Cairngorm Black Gold, the latter of which was in excellent nick and served-up by friendly staff. Ate here and the food was good. Impromptu live music courtesy of one of the other WHW walkers. Also, watch out for the local deer who hang around outside and get fed kitchen scraps in the latter part of the evening. Definitely one of the best inns on the West Highland Way and worth a visit as a pub in its own right.
The rooms aren't bad either, bar the showers.
