Steak Cattle & Roll is more of a restaurant than bar, so I’m not sure why anyone would go in here just for a drink. The square interior has a bar counter on the right wall that faces high tables down the centre. To the left is the kitchen with an open serving hatch and above is seating on a mezzanine. Projector screens above the bar were showing music videos via MTV and sitting at one of the high tables by the kitchen I could hear the chef’s happy hardcore blaring from a radio. I decided to move onto one of the tables under the fairy lit roof out the back in Merchant Square.
The bar supports standard keg alongside Birra Moretti. I went for a mac & cheese burger for £13.00 and chips for £5.50. This was the smallest chips and was enough to feed a family of four, blatant rip-off. Actually, the burger was really good, but I wouldn’t go here again. 3/10 as a bar + 7/10 as a restaurant = 5/10
