GBG regular - in the 2024 edition and looks like the 2013, from the last review.
Not surprising really. Simple drinkers pub - cobs available - single roomed, TV with BT Sport. Proud of their cask marque awards and indeed camra entry.
A handful of old boys huddled in front of the TV - outnumbered by the cask offerings.... maybe as many as 6, with a couple of real ciders. My Bass was in absolute perfect condition - permanently on, as the landlord loves it and all that the barman drinks in here.
Friendly staff.

An end-terrace Victorian pub with rear patio that is listed in the GBG. It is in cream painted brick (some peeling a little), with green paintwork on the sash windows and lower frontage. The interior has one room, in grey wood panel and cream, with a red carpet and white ceiling. A nice salt glazed tiled fireplace is at one end. Old photos of the village and the pub, with a few mirrors and prints are on the walls. One side is more of a bar, the other foody, with its tables and chairs. The TV wasn't on and there was no background music. The service was really good and a few locals were in. Beer; usual tap stuff with the following handpulls; Butcmbe Bitter, Marston Bitter, Otter Amber, Dartmoor Jail Ale and IPA, as well as Exmoor Beast. I tried Jail, Beast and Amber were all decent. A class little pub, one i could stay in for a lot longer - sadly, they closed in the day, so couldn't! Try it.
