After a short refurb, Salt Oakwood, as was, reopens today as The Clock Inn.

Old Boots left this review about Salt Oakwood

One of three micros / small bars in a row opposite Oakwood Clock Tower, obviously this one is run by Salt/Ossett and apart from a clutch of national kegs it’s pretty much their beer in cask, keg or small pack format. We’ll skip the Guinness, Madri and boring stuff on the five way T-bar and concentrate on the four pulls with a Salt beer (Tweed) and Ossett White Rat plus a fruity cider (a non-real one according to Camra), the seven solo keg taps have a wide range of Salt and Ossett beers. The keg taps on the back wall dispense keg premixed cocktail’s, the barman told me they can dispense four in the time it takes to hand mix one and the stuff flys out of a weekend. A decent conversion, old floorboards left in place, an affectation with exposed brick, Salt hexagon tiles in front of the counter and that old fashioned industrial look stuff on the ceiling and counter top. There’s mid-height bench seating at the back end, mostly high tables with chairs at the front and just the one lowish table in the front window, a trio of machinist’s stools at the counter complete the seating. Fairly plain otherwise, the “washrooms” are up a flight of stairs where there’s a kitchen bar serving burgers, wings and loaded fries (chips!). Thanks guys for pointing out the “washrooms” but I didn’t actually need to wash anything just have a pee in a toilet.

Rob Hunter left this review about Stew & Oyster

Visited yesterday, despite being lunch time, albeit on a Tuesday, the place was quiet with just two other people in and no sign of anyone sampling the stew (or oysters).

Six hand pulls at the bar offering Cromarty Hit The Lip, Theakston Best Bitter, Vocation Bread & Butter, another Vocation beer, something by Kirkstall and a house ale also brewed by Kirkstall. My half of Hit The Lip set me back £2.10 and unfortunately was a bit on the warm side despite being pulled through prior to my glass being filled. The head was a little on the generous side too, but not quite enough to complain about.

In terms of décor this is a modern feeling café bar with various types of seating. Music was playing which was pleasant and at a perfectly acceptable volume.

I have been here before a few years back and thought it was OK, but I didn't really take to it on this occasion.
