Alan Winfield left this review about Lord Nelson
The Lord Nelson is situated opposite the village green in the quiet village of Winthorpe.
Once inside there is a small area close to the entrance which has leather settees in it,there is a larger room to the rear which has the bar in it,this room is bare boarded with normal tables and chairs and is mainly in a cream colour, there is a dining area to the rear of this room, this area was carpeted and had leather chairs with normal tables.
For outside drinking there is a fairly large walled garden to the rear which looked quite nice and i could not see an entrance to this from the front of the pub so it would be child friendly.
There were two real ales on the bar i had a drink of Castle Rock Harvest Pale and this was a very nice drink the other beer was Ruddles best.
The pub was quite busy late Saturday afternoon with drinkers.
This is a pretty upmarket pub but drinkers are made just as welcome as diners.
