The Guildhall & Linen Exchange is a U-shaped Wetherspoons pub and hotel in a notable building on the corner of the High Street. The raised right-hand side of the pub is full of standard seating with minimal décor, in fact the only thing of note this side of the pub is a dartboard case on the rear wall, which is unusual for a Spoons, although I’m not a hundred percent there’s a board in there. The bar area is found up the left-hand side where seating is found in the windows either side of the entrance and the serving counter runs up the left wall where it faces a couple of rows of tightly packed high tables. A large kitchen hatch is found on the rear wall adjacent to steps to the right that link the street-level bar with the aforementioned raised seating. On the bar five of the eight hand pumps were in use drawing Isle of Skye Brewing’s Skye Blaven, Doom Bar, Harviestoun Brewery’s Schiehallion, Willimas Bros. Brewing’s Birds & Bees Golden Summer Ale and Stewart Brewing’s Jack Back. The service was friendly, but this is one of the quietist and smallest Spoons I’ve visited.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Guildhall & Linen Exchange (JD Wetherspoon)
Landmark building, the spire of which can be seen for miles around, converted well into a 'spoons on the ground floor and linked hotel above. Features a slightly split-level, 'U'-shaped arrangement of seating / dining areas, with the far end away from the bar being the most characterful. Also has a few outside tables by the entrances. Only five of eight handpumps in operation, but several interesting beers available including the Cairngorm Black Gold (excellent, and just £2.19).

This is a JDW hotel as well as a pub. The bar area is split level with the bar counter on the lower level. I thought the interior was rather garish for such an old building.
The bar has eight hand pumps which had one unused, Deuchars IPA, Abbot, Edinbrew 85 Shilling, Sharps Atlantic, Burton Bridge Battle Brew, Conwy Rampart and Titanic Steerage. I went for the Battle Brew (£2.19) which was so good I had another as the "free" drink with the chicken club.
I thought this was a good Spoons and is GBG 2017 listed.
