Cask was Abbot and OSH. Keg was Guinness, original SB, Carling, Moretti, Cruz, Stella, Inch's, John Smiths and Icebreaker pale ale.
This feels like an old inn. The bar counter is directly in front of the entrance on the main roadside of the pub. It is a rather grand affair. The flooring here is v old flagstones and on the left is a rather grand albeit unused on my visit fireplace. To the right of the bar is a dining area, classily laid out but on my visit, there were as many diners around the bar counter as there were in the restaurant. To the left of the bar up a step or two was another seating area. The area in front of the bar counter was fully occupied by diners and this felt like a smart venue here to be dining on a mid-Monday evening. The venue had low ceiling and exposed dark beams, so clearly it was a pretty old hostelry. An outside seating area at the rear was not in play on my visit. This came across as a very decent venue for the area and I enjoyed my stay here.
