Requested be closed with reason - For sale: Closed this week and for sale. Local rumour has it it is due to be demolished to create parking for the recently opened hotel at the adjacent John Frances Basset.

Formerly the Regal Hotel, which was much ignored. A contemporary makeover didn't really work, and it is a proper knuckle-dragger's pub. Palpable air of tension at the weekend, domestics in the beer garden, &c. Does open the latest of any pub in town. Strictly fizz. Enter at your own risk.
