Goodbarns Yard has an L-shaped serving counter that serves the main bar area to the front and open plan seating to the rear that is more akin to dining. There are three hand pumps on both sections of bar with TT Landlord being available at the front and GK IPA up the right. Premium keg and Carling were also available from the frosty young barmaid. There were far more people dinging in the rear than were sitting in the bar, this place seems to be popular with older clientele. The burger on offer was fish, for £11. There’s an interesting looking chimney breast on the right-hand wall in the bar area with a tiny little hearth that was full of red hot coals. I got some funny looks off the barmaid as I tested this expanse of wall to see if it was hot, it wasn’t. I though it was a bit boring in here and the ale choice has done nothing to entice me back.

Decent pub with the bar to the front as you come in, extending down the right hand side. Room to the rear used as a restaurant. Old Speckled Hen on hand pump. Would return to this one.

This looks like a couple of buildings knocked through into one. Georgian at heart, it has been much altered. The frontage of this pub/restaurant has been heavily rendered in yellow, with grey paintwork around the small windows and door, which has moulded edging. There is a rear beer garden area.

The pub has two areas; the front being a bar area and the rear a restaurant. The bar is an L-shaped area around the big wooden serving bar that faces you on entry. It is in a mix of cream, mint green and undressed brick, with supporting wall beams. There is a white and beam ceiling and patterned carpet. There is a nice brick chimney with fireplace and like the restuarant area it has part-partitions. There are a few prints on the wall and a large aerial photograph of the area. I didn't eat here, but they did a 2 for £10 and a £10-12 menu. There was no TV that i saw and the music was easy and a decent level. The service was fine and it was quite busy, with both diners and those just drinking - a mixed and slightly more mature clientele.

Beer; usual tap stuff with Old Spekky Hen and a decent Timothy taylor Landlord on handpull.

A good mix of oub and restaurant, the place has a classy little feel to it. I would definitely return here for one - and to try the food.
