The Green Barrel was an estate pub in the bestwood area of north Nottingham.
The pub was built by Home brewery in the early 70s,it looked a bit different to most pubs built around this time.
Once inside there was a fairly large bar which was basic but functional and a smarter lounge,the pub was an Home Ales tied house and there were no real ales on here i had a drink of keg Home bitter and this was a pretty poor drink,there was also keg Home mild.
The pub gained a rough reputation as did most pubs in this area and it finally closed down in the early 2000s.
The pub has now been pulled down and the site is being redeveloped.
