Strongers . left this review about The Cotswold Way
I had a bit of trouble finding the Cotswold Way on Saturday night. By chance, just after I had given up looking and started to head back to the main drag, I noticed the building that looks like a social club. It is located beyond a car park and another building in what looked and felt like an industrial park in the dark. As I approached I thought that it was closed as the curtains were drawn and I couldn’t see any signs of life, but the front door opened and I made my way around to the left where a thin bar is located. There were three young customers and a friendly barman who were watching Million Pound Drop on the small plasma screen. Sky Sports is heavily advertised and to my knowledge this is the only pub for some distance where football can be watched.
Beyond the bar area is a large seating area, but this was closed off with all the chairs on the tables. The lights were out so I couldn’t really see what the area contains, but it looked very large.
The bar is stocked with standard draught and the two hand pumps were drawing Doom Bar and pedigree. I didn’t see any food advertised, but my visit was after 22:00 when any menus would have been put away if food is served.
The outside looks like a social club and the interior feels like a social club, but I was made to feel more than welcome. If I was to find myself in the area when a match I wanted to watch was being played I would definitely visit here again, but I wouldn’t go in just for a passing beer again.
