Adjacent to the Premier Inn, this modern Brewer’s Fayre purpose-built chain outlet is convenient for the main road into Bridgwater. It lacks any kind of character, but the staff do what they can to make you feel welcome. The usual clientele were present – commercial travellers, a family with a noisy child, the sole PuG-reporting motorcyclist and what looked like a blind date couple in their late 50s in the corner trying to flirt with each other. The only ale on was Doombar, which was in sub-average condition but still drinkable. OK as a pit-stop to save you from having to go into the town.
