The Spinning Jenny was a typical estate pub that was built around the same time as the housing around it in the new redeveloped area of the meadows.
Once inside there was a fairly basic bar and a smarter lounge,the pub was a Shipstones tied house and there were two real ales on the bar i had a drink of Shipstones bitter and this was quite a nice drink the other beer was Shipstones mild.
Over the years the pub gained a bit of a rough reputation so the police moved in and turned the pub into a police station.
