The Magpies was a large pub that was situated close to the railway lines and was just in the meadows area, the other side of the train lines took you into the sneinton area of Nottingham.
The pub had a few different rooms with a large bar and lounge and i think a function room, the pub was a Home Ales tied house and there were two real ales on here and the Home bitter was a decent drink the other beer was Home mild.
This pub has now been pulled down probably to make way for another new road or retail park.
Yet another Nottingham pub to bite the dust.
