Previously the Wheatsheaf hotel of venerable age, the inside has been ruthlessly modernised although bizarrely some lincrusta wallpaper survives. It’s a fairly woody design with board floors, a touch of tongue and groove including one part of the ceiling and a fairly neat counter. The servery lies along part of the length of the right hand side of the front area, further back it narrows by a pizza servery and the garden - jam status unknown. The furnishings in the front window sections are sofas and armchairs, tall or short in the middle then lower tables and chairs in the pizza area. Two T-Bars on the counter with a set of four pulls between them, I got excited seeing that but three had “try a taster” clips and just a beer from Brewpoint available on the fourth. The glassware was a handled jug but at least not a dimpled mug and it was emblazoned “Brewpoint Bedford”. This is an offshoot of former brewery Wells & Co who apparently own the pub. The kegs much as expected, a couple labelled Brewpoint the others UK produced euro lager and cider but no Guinness. Screens, machines and music of course, Mary Celeste staffing.

I am pretty sure i did this pub when it had another name many years ago,but can not pin it down at the moment.
Once inside there is a roughly oblong shaped room running to the rear, with a slight dog leg to the rear left, the floor is bare boarded, the seating normal tables and chairs.
There were three real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Holdens Golden Glow, which went down well, the other real ales were Sharps Atlantic and Bombardier.
Food was being served and the pub was fairly busy on my Saturday afternoon visit.
I thought this was a decent enough pub to revisit.

Busy pub with various real ales - I Had Adnam's Broadside which was OK. Found it a bit expensive, mind you, at £1.90 for a half.
