I take it Al is not a fan :-)

A proper continental experience in Greater Manchester. Kwak served in the ceremonial chalice is always a winner for me!

A very pleasant and welcoming bar, not as niche as the name suggests, there is a changing beer on handpump. The ground floor is small and boarded with the bar on the back wall, exposed brick fireplaces, Belgian beer ads all over the walls. Stairs lead up to a split level mezzanine floor with more exposed brickwork and beer related stuff then a steel spiral stair rises again but I didn't check where this lead to.
Belgian style there are beer menus. it isn't cheap but many of these bottles are in the 8-10% category. They are splendid from my experience. Not a session place at these strength and prices but it is bloody good and unmissable around the market area bars.

As you'd expect it centres on Belgian/German bottled beers. Expect to find tedious students, pseudos and lager bores drinking some Belgian flobberberry bierbraü weißier stuff at 15% and being sick an hour later.
