Steve of N21 left this review about The Coach & Horses
The Coach and Horses is a 15th century stone built coaching inn which used to serve as a monastery in Appledore.
It has an old fashioned traditional interior with lots of original exposed brick walls including the original stone fireplace and large wooden beams. A two room set up with a traditional bar area and then a separate dining room.
We didn’t eat here but the menu looked a reasonable choice of traditional pub meals. The bar area was a very comfortable space and I believe its a tied St Austells outlet and there were three ales from the brewery on during my visit, Tribute, Proper Job and Trelawny and the ones we tried were in good condition. Posters in the bar area were advertising free folk jam session music nights on a Wednesday evening and I can imagine this being a popular village pub for the locals. I would certainly have utilised it more than just our fleeting visit if I had been holidaying over in the village.

Nice old fashioned back street pub. Couple of real ales. Ring o' Bells beers when I was there...result!
