Alan Winfield left this review about The Sparrow
The Sparrow was a typical estate pub that was hidden away in the collyhurst area of Manchester.
Once inside there was a largish bar that was a decent room and a smarter lounge that looked quite comfortable,i had a drink in the bar.
The pub was a Tetley tied house and there were surprisingly four real ales on the bar i had a drink of Joseph Holt bitter and this was a really nice well kept pint, the other beers were Tetley bitter,Tetley mild and Boddingtons bitter.
This was quite a decent estate pub and i was happy enough having a drink in here.
This pub has now been pulled down and housing built on its site.
What a shame.
