The Prince of Wales is a back street pub that is at the top of a steepish hill.
Once inside there is a largish single L shaped room, the seating is comfy bench type to the front and left with narrow bench seating on the right side, there is a darts board to the rear right, the TV was showing horse racing.
There were no real ales on the bar,the keg bitter options were Courage best which was off or John Smiths smooth crap which i was fed up of drinking,so i had a Guinness which was ok but as usual did'nt really taste of anything.
The background music ranged from good to crap.
This is a decent enough pub, just a shame they dont have one real ale on the bar.

The Prince of Wales is a backstreet local that had ten or so regulars in for some Monday night football shown on Sky Sports during my recent visit. The interior is sparsely decorated with minimal furniture around the exterior walls meaning that there is plenty of standing room. The thin bar juts out from the left hand wall to create a U shaped pub with a large front area and room at the rear for a pool table and dartboard.
There is no real ale here with only standard draught being available and the food stretches to crisps and scampi fries.
I found this pub to have a friendly estate boozer feel and I would have no problem returning to watch some football again.

A pleasant Victorian corner pub at the top of a steep hill in an old residential area. The pub consists of a single L-shaped corner bar, carpeted and sparsely furnished. The welcome is genuine, and the staff were happy to pass the time despite being busy. The locals were very chatty and helpful, and the ambiance was that of a lively local. The only thing that lets it down is its beer - the best draft on offer was Courage Best, which was a bit boring. They also had Hobgoblin in bottles, though, so all was not lost. I'd be happy to come back here, and maybe next time the silent handpump will have a decent guest on.
