More of a nightclub than a pub: "Formerly The Lansdowne Picture Palace: 1914-1940, then temporarily used by Marks and Spencer’s after their city store was destroyed during the blitz in 1940. Then known as: The Locarno Ballroom, Tiffany's Nightclub,
The Palais, The Music Factory, Club Generation & Bed." (Information copied from http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/archive/index.php/t-224065.html). The shell of the building was retained (as it has listed status) when student flats were built in the early years of this century, and there is a Sainsbury's supermarket within.
