During the daytime, this cafe/bar seems to be more cafe than bar. In fact on a weekday lunchtime, everybody else seemed to be on coffee. Spread over a couple of premises in a busy shopping street, the interior has a modern feel. The bar itself is in the left-hand section and sports a couple of cask ales. Harvey's Sussex Best Bitter is the regular beer. On this occasion, the guest was Only With Love Jolly Green Hop Pale Ale. There was also a decent selection of craft beers, with Lost Machine NEIPA, Three Blind Mice Wit, Only With Love Bongo Tropic IPA, Bestens Talk To My Lawyer & Duration Another Day Done. All beers are listed on Untappd and a CAMRA discount is also offered.

I suspect this place may take on a different guise in the evening, but on a midweek lunchtime, it wasn't quite my cup of tea. Features in the latest Good Beer Guide though.

A peculiar mixture of micropub and cafe which sometimes makes the Good Beer Guide. There are two rooms, presumably formed from adjacent shops and fitted out with a modern cafe lounge feel, fairly featureless but the little bar on one side has 3 handpumps and a selection of keg taps. Harvey's Best seems to be a fixture, with interesting changing guests which on this visit were a superb Downlands 1984 stout and 5 Points Homage IPA. I am not a huge fan of background music in pubs but this one had cracked it with a top notch playlist at a sensible volume. Quite pleasant, despite its modernity.

I thought this was a "bar" rather than a "pub" but these distinctions are becoming increasingly blurred. Inside it's a split level room with a wood laminate floor. If this was Islington rather than Sussex the decor would have been battleship grey but thankfully it was grey green (dare I say duck egg green?).
I noticed a large TV screen that was mercifully turned off.
The bar has three hand pumps which on my visit had Harvey's Best & Forward's Choice and XT 14 Saison Pale.
I went for the XT beer (£3.80) which was in good nick.
I wish I had checked out the 10% CAMRA discount listed both here and What Pub which would have bought the price down to a more reasonable level.
I thought this place was OK but it is essentially a trendy bar. At least it's open in the morning and afternoon and is handy for the Railway Station. It's GBG 2016 listed.
