Alan Winfield left this review about The Albany
The Albany is a large three storey victorian pub that is in the back streets of hyson green.
Once inside there were a few different rooms and on the couple of occasions that i have been in here i have had a drink in the bar which was fairly big and basic and had a rough edge to it.
This pub used to be a Shipstones tied house and there were two real ales on the bar the Shipstones bitter was a decent drink.
This pub and area had a notorious reputation in the 80s,i dont know if it has improved but the pub still had its Shipstones signs outside when i looked on street view.
I think the pub is still open.
