A modern conversion of a barn and adjoining field into a restaurant and venue for weddings and funerals, which also acts somewhat like a pub. It's a busy main road, so entry is from the car park, but the bar is then immediately upon the right, with two hand pumps centrally placed. Both beers are from local Weetwood brewery, Cheshire Cat Blonde and Eastgate Bitter (or Amber, as we have to say now, so as not to scare the horses). I tried both, the bitter (sorry) being in very good condition, though the hops were a little too aromatic or perfumy for me, and the blonde is also pretty good (average NBSS 3.5), £4.80 for two halves. I've seen a lot worse venues of this type. It might be interesting to find out how "pub-like" it gets later, but it's 5:30 on a Monday afternoon, so I would probably have quite a long wait. I like the building and the way the space has been utilised, so I wouldn't refuse another visit. I'm not likely to get married any time, but I might be up for a funeral?

Large pub/restaurant , as young Mr Bundy says in the previous review more a restaurant with a bar , its all very nice in here with lots of wood and leather seating , there is a Mezzanine floor , several outside drinking areas which would be great in summer , not so great in the snow of my visit .
Friendly staff , the Italian(?) barman a real character , several locale real ales on from Weetwood and Cheshire Brew Bros , not tried as i was driving .

Very nice pub/restaurant. A bit pricey but it does real ale and has a cracking beer garden for summer drinking. That said it isnt very pubby. The modern interior is what it is - a restaurant with bar facilities.
