Beefeater branded pub next door to a small Premier Inn , it has the usual Beefeater style of one largish room divided into smaller areas although a few original features of what was once possibly a small traditional local remain .
There is a huge pay and display carpark(free to premier inn guests , redeemable at the bar for pub customers) with a section taken up with a large selection of benchs , not as nice as a proper beer garden but better than nothing as the pub is only a short distance from the end of Manchester Airports runway and the planes fly pretty low overhead which is great for kids and big kids.
Usual keg taps and two ales Pedigree and Black Sheep Bitter , service was OK if a little a little short staffed , customers were a mixture of locals and families from the next door hotel

The Heald Green is a largish old pub that has got a mock tudor upper half.
The pub is situated quite close to Heald Green train station.
Over the years this pub has had ugly extensions added to it so that the hoards of diners who come here can have seats looking out of the windows.
Once inside there was one largish room that was divided into different drinking areas, the room was carpeted and had country stye seating, there was a decent sized area for drinkers like myself but most of the pub is set aside for diners as this is a beefeater branded pub.
When i visited this pub it was a Whitbread tied house and there was only one real ale on the bar which was Boddingtons bitter this was a fairly decent pint.
The pub was very busy with diners and it is not really my sort of pub to go in but it was handy after getting of the train at Heald Green.
In more recent years there has been a large Premier Inn added to the left of the pub.
