Pub SignMan left this review about The Bar
This is a modern style bar situated in a row of shops which presumably explains why it has the feel of a shop conversion. The pub has a single room layout, although there are a number of pillars and short walls that break up the space and crate recessed areas along the right hand side. The room has a mix of laminate wood and tile flooring with some high stools and tables at the front and more standard seating to the rear, opposite the servery. A large space at the front left has been filled with a pool table and there is a dartboard available as well. A large image of former Nottingham Forest manager Brian Clough hangs on the back wall, but I also noticed a Notts County emblem and an aerial photo of their Meadow Lane stadium. Several TV screens, all switched off on my visit, are positioned around the room and there was a fairly loud contemporary music soundtrack playing, which was a bit annoying as I was the only customer. At the back there is a small outdoor patio area with a limited amount of seating.
There are four hand pumps, but the Fullers London Pride was off on my visit, so the choice came down to Black Sheep Bitter, Everards Tiger and Oakham Bishop’s Farewell (£2.50). My pint of Oakham was served at a surprisingly cold temperature which made it very difficult to get any flavour from what is normally a very tasty beer.
I thought this was a decent enough place to stop off for a pint, although I suspect I would have enjoyed my time here more if it was a little busier. It’s a nice, modern alternative to the excellent traditional pubs nearby and is worth consideration if you are on a crawl around town.

The Bar is situated on the busy chilwell roads shopping area.
This pub opened about 10 years ago and after hearing good things about the place i decided to give it a try.
Once inside there is a single room with the bar to the left, there are tall tables and chairs at the front of the pub and there is also a pool table here, once further into the pub there are lots of normal tables and chairs, the flooring is a mix of bare boards and tiled.
There were four real ales on the bar all of these were very reasonbly priced,i had a drink of Oakham Bishops Farewell at £2.50 a pint and this was a very nice well kept drink, the other beers were Everards Tiger bitter,Ringwood Old Thumper and Banks's bitter.
The pub had a decent atmosphere and was fairly busy on my early dinner time visit.
I quite liked it in here.

I play darts for this pub. Usually 3 or 4 reasonably priced real ale and I believe live music at weekends.
