Scruffy and dingy inside and out, but the staff are welcoming enough. As below, it does remain largely as a music venue, and is close to student accommodation.
Unless I am out for the music, it's probably not the sort of place I'd meet up with friends just for a drink, maybe a quick one to get out of the rain but certainly wouldn't be making a night of it.

Formerly The Roundabout, this is unashamedly a music venue, with Open Mic nights, Karaoke and bands on Friday and Saturday nights, including the odd D&B night. The internal layout is roughly lower-case H-shaped with an entrance-facing bar, a game room, with dartboard, pool table and jukebox via an open doorway to the right, table and chair seating in front and to the right, with some tables covered with a slew of album covers 'covering', then a performance area to the rear left. Plenty of adverts for upcoming music-related nights with the odd musical instrument dotted around on the walls (guitars, violins, drumsticks and cymbals). Two Rebellion ales on - Roasted Nuts and Zebedee - the latter £3.80 and borderline watery. Not sure whether someone had block-booked the jukebox or not, but the background muzak remained ABBA-based throughout. As mentioned below, it's near the bus station, but in terms of choice of ambience, The Chiltern Taps or Rose & Crown are other, better, alternatives.

Handy for the bus station, the pub was tidy inside with cricket showing on the TV. No cask beer but a range of lagers etc.
