Driving past the Vauxhall on Saturday, I noticed that it had closed. I've checked the local press, there are plans to build a complex of takeaway outlets on the site. Not surprisingly, there have been local objections to these plans.
Update: There is a sign on the pub which announces the approved plans of the redevelopment of The Vauxhall

The Vauxhall Inn is a largish pub that is next to a busy roundabout and on the opposite corner to the Ye Olde Red House.
Once inside there were a few diffrent rooms, the room i had a drink in was smartish but seemed a bit down at heel.
There were two real ales on the bar i had a drink of Old Speckled Hen which was ok but not really to my taste the other beer was GK Abbot.
There is a decent sized outside seating area if you want to watch traffic going around the roundabout.
This was not really the sort of pub i like going in.
