The Tanners was a grim looking estate pub that was on the then grim fairy lane estate,the pub was situated on the corner of fairy lane and broomsport drive.
Once inside this was a typical two roomed estate pub with a largish bar and a more comfortable lounge, i had a drink in the bar and this room had a rough edge to it.
This pub was a Joseph Holts tied house and there were two real ales on the bar i had a drink of Holts bitter and this was a very nice drink the other beer was Holts mild.
Sadly this pub has been pulled down along with the rest of this estate,there are now modern houses on the pubs site.
