On a very brief visit to Northleach, I had intended to pop into the Sherborne Arms. I gingerly stepped inside, and hastily stepped out again. Anyone expecting to find the down to earth local last visited in 2018, will be in for a surprise. They have certainly gone up market, since reopening a short while ago. To be fair, they have done a good job with the interior, no major alterations, it just looks smarter. The emphasis of the pub is for dining, I can't comment on the drinks available, having beat a hasty retreat. It would be unfair to rate the pub, as mine was only a flying visit. On the positive side, I can assure any future visitor that there was not a yobbo in sight!

Looked the more down to earth of the two pubs in the village.
Beer - a below average Marstons 61 Deep - bit lifeless, no head and poured with a lack of love.
Food was very good - just a couple of sandwiches but well presented and good value.
Great location to watch the bustle of market square.

The poorer relation to the more upmarket Wheatsheaf in town and with a distinctly more 'local' vibe. Two ales available - Wadworth 6X and Butcombe Bitter - the latter £1.85 for half - with a third handpump unclipped. A small bar is located to the right upon entry, with small areas to the left and right side aside for drinking. Ahead (or, to the right of the bar) is an area which holds a pool table and a jukebox with a room further past set aside with tables for dining, not that I saw any evidence of this during my stay. With a bit of TLC and aptitude, this could potentially be a great boozer, but instead its currently inhabited by people akin to those in Blackthorn's photo of 2013, so I think I'll leave them to it.
