Alan Winfield left this review about The Church
The Church was in a nice location facing ardwick green.
This is a stand alone bare brick built pub and once inside the pub was very smart and quite plush which was a bit surprising in this inner city area of Manchester.
As far as i could see there was only one room and a lot of this was being used for diners but as a drinker i was made just as welcome.
This pub was a Wilsons tied house but it was trading under the Chef & Brewer sign, there were three real ales on the bar i had a drink of Wilsons bitter and this was a nice drink the other beers were Courage Directors and Websters Yorkshire bitter.
The pub was very busy and most customers were of the upmarket posh type which seemed strange after doing so many basic down at heel pubs.
Sadly this pub has now closed down and it is up for sale,so there is hope for it yet.
