Two roomed pub - carpeted lounge and bar with a tiled floor. Walkers are welcome in the bar which is a tidy room holding half a dozen or so tables with hard wooden chairs and padded benches in red upholstery. The bar was a little dimly lit and the doorways are low. The ceiling has beams that are covered with numerous handpull badges. There is also a wood burning stove and a welsh dresser holding items of china crockery that are for sale.
Lunchtime menu was a choice of around 5 sandwiches and chips and a board with pub grub such as lasagne. Small children aren't specifically catered for, for instance there are no high chairs, children's meals or change facilities. The service was friendly and I felt comfortable. It felt like the kind of place where I would happily spend a winter's evening.
The usual Carling, Fosters, John Smiths and Guinness were on tap. On handpull there was Bateman's XB and Bateman's Miss Lapland. The other handpull was unused.
