The Crown was a very large old pub that stood on its own with flats surrounding it.
This pub looked pretty grim from the outside and it was a fairly rough and ready pub inside.
There were a few different rooms and i had a drink in the bar which was quite basic.
I think this may have been a Tetley tied house and there was one real ale on the bar this was Tetley bitter and this was a fairly decent drink.
This old pub survived the redevelopmet of hulme in the late 60s but i think it has now been pulled down during the latest redevelopment of this area.
A sad loss of a proper old pub.
