Òran Mór is a former church and accordingly large inside with a big island bar. If it's ale you're after, keep walking to spot the 2 hand pulls, one badged for Landlord and continue around to find another pair though, again, just one in action, this with Harviestoun Bitter and Twisted. Your regular Guinness and Tennents is supplemented by Budvar and some almost crafty options.
Food is very much part of the offer, though it's perfectly ok to just get a drink. Background music is played a little louder than I'd choose and I don't know how often Mull of Kintyre comes around - I only heard it once during my stop, though they also played us Bay City Rollers to add to the stereotypes. Live music is also regularly featured.
It's fine enough for a stop-off, though I'm not sure I'd be up for an extended stay here.

Formerly a church, now converted to a smart drinking venue on the ground floor ,a restaurant to one side and a performance area down stairs where a large selection of events take place. It's a local landmark opposite the entrance to the Botanical Gardens on a busy crossroads ,but climbing up the entrance steps you are transported into an interesting space with fine stonework, stained glass windows and a wood covered island bar with traditional furniture and just a few high tables to pitch down on.There is a large space for drinking and it's popular with diners as well. There is a lot of art hanging on the walls, and some very well know actors who have performed here are also pictured.
Two handpumps were both reversed but would have been Greene King IPA and Abbot so no great loss. The keg beer selection is very mainstream and my Drygate Kelvin was passable.
Not enough to justify a session,I was there to catch a performance and it's an interesting place.
