The King's Arms Hotel has a couple of entrance doors. The left one leads into a lounge/dining room with the right-hand door used to access the bar. Both are joined to the rear of the central bar with all the handpulls and pumps on the bar side.
The bar is bare boarded with a couple of TVs (both switched off). A cabinet next to the bar contained some Melrose rugby memorabilia. This pub had more drinkers than the other Melrose pubs and there were also a few eating too. There are board games on a windowsill in the bar.
Cask ales were all from Stewart - Edinburgh Gold, Citra Blonde & Jack Back IPA. Laine Mangolicious & Belhaven Best were on keg. The cider was Inch's and there was also a cocktail club being advertised and a whisky of the month.
Of the 4 Melrose pubs I tried, this felt the best. Although my beer choice (Edinburgh Gold) was not really to my taste.

Plush but nicely presented hotel bar, pleasant service and beer, worth a punt
