Well signposted from the main road, the Badachro Inn is well worth the trip if you're staying in or near Gairloch. Situated as it is on the shore of the bay, the outside seating area becomes a feeding zone for midges at certain times, for example, just after I arrived sweating from my cycle ride out here. There's also a covered area which is specifically designated for diners at meal times, but the inside of the building is fine. This is basically the original old pub to which the decking and other bits and pieces have been added over the last couple of decades since I was first here. There are benches and stools and a number of large tables crammed into the far end past the bar, with a large fireplace and some interesting pictures on the walls.
There are three hand pumps, serving Caledonian 80/- and An Teallach Suilven, plus a cider that I failed to note, probably Westons. The beer was priced at what I was by now beginning to recognise as the standard £3.70 a pint, and there was also the now normal and totally unnecessary piped music.
