A small town boozer occupying what appears to be part of a former coaching inn. It is very dated, having a tiled floor that would be better placed in a seaside chip shop, a paint scheme that screams 1970s and the general air of a tenement kitchen. There was a mobility scooter propped up outside, which could have belonged to any one of the 4 locals fading away in there. The landlady was pleasant enough. There were 2 ales on, Tribute and Proper Job, both in drinkable condition but nothing special. OK for a swift one but not somewhere I’d seek out to spend time.

OK small town pub, nothing special (but this is, after all, Ilminster), with a friendly welcome from staff and locals. Only one ale on - Otter Ale - but well kept and a very nice pint.
